Modified SOFA score

Definition

The Modified Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (mSOFA) score combines the Respiration (PaO2/FiO2), Liver (Bilirubin), Cardiovascular (Hypotension), Glasgow Coma Score and Renal (Creatinine) aspects of the original Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score [LOINC: 96790-1] , however, the Respiration and Liver values are calculated differently than the original. The original SOFA includes a Coagulation (Platelets) factor. The MSOFA uses score values of 0-4 for each aspect, except for Liver, which is scored as either 0 or 3, with a maximum total score of 19 points. [PMID: 33384509]
