Testing may be performed on allo-hematopoietic stem cell or solid organ transplant patients who are at risk for developing late CMV disease or having CMV reactivation post transplant or after the cessation of antiviral prophylaxis. For transplant recipients and patients with autoimmune disorders receiving therapy with immunosuppressant agents, testing is useful for determining over immunosuppression within the CD8 T cell pathway.
