This panel contains ordinal tests results for the diagnosis of primary, acute phase infection with cytomegalovirus (CMV) in patients with symptoms of infectious mononucleosis to determine whether Epstein-Barr virus or CMV is the causative organism or to determine whether a patient, such as an organ donor or transplant recipient, has had a recent infection or previous exposure to CMV. This panel may also be ordered for pregnant women who are suspected of having primary CMV infection based on clinical signs or history of exposure.
