PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with streptococcus infection) is a condition in which some children experience a sudden onset or worsening of neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as OCD and tics, following a group A streptococcus infection. There is correlational evidence that PANDAS may be triggered by an autoimmune response to the streptococcus infection.
