Laboratory

Chikungunya virus structural proteins (E1+E2) IgG Ab [Presence] in Serum by Immunoassay

Definition

This assay is for the qualitative detection of IgG antibodies present in human serum targeting chikungunya virus (CHIKV) E1/E2 proteins, for the presumptive clinical laboratory diagnosis of CHIKV infection. It is intended for use only in patients with clinical symptoms consistent with CHIKV infection. IgG antibodies to CHIKV become detectable about one week after the onset of illness. This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, the submitter's CHIKjj DetectTM IgG ELISA test kit.
