Physical activity panel

Definition

This panel contains observations used to evaluate a patient's frequency and/or level of physical activity. The panel also contains observations for reporting the patient's absolute and relative (rating of perceived exertion) intensity levels of aerobic physical activity. The results may be used to determine if a patient is not meeting, meeting or exceeding the recommended amount of aerobic, bone-strengthening, and/or muscle-strengthening physical activities based on a specific guideline, such as the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans (2008 PAG). The 2008 PAG was issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide information and guidance on the types and amounts of physical activity recommended for children, adolescents, and adults in order to achieve substantial health benefits.[http://health.gov/paguidelines/pdf/paguide.pdf]
