80384-1
LaboratoryChoriogonadotropin [Presence] in Urine by Rapid immunoassay
Definition
This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, the bioMerieux bioNexia hCG Urine kit, which is intended for the qualitative detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in urine to aid in the early detection of pregnancy. The bioNexia hCG assay has a sensitivity of 25 mIU/mL, at which level there is no cross-reactivity interference from the structurally related glycoprotein hormones FSH, LH and TSH, and which allows detection of pregnancy as early as one day after the first missed menses. The bioNexia hCG Urine assay results should be read 3 minutes after the sample is applied to the sample well. This lab test is used as pregnancy test (for early pregnancy detection)
