The result value (an ICD code) is derived by natural language processing from the cause of death textual information entered by the provider on the death certificate. A separate cause of death code is assigned to each individual text entry entered on the death certificate. The reporting structure also includes the part/line number and sequence within the line for each distinct text block processed and successfully encoded.
