Laboratory

7-Aminoclonazepam [Mass/mass] in Hair

Definition

7-aminoclonazepam is deposited in hair in much higher quantities than the parent drug clonazepam, and remains there for extended periods of time. One study indicates that, assuming the average hair growth of 0.8-1.3 cm per month, the presence of 7-aminoclonazepam in distal hair segments could represent over a 1.5 year history of clonazepam use. It is possible to detect 7-aminoclonazepam in hair after a single dose of clonazepam. [PMID: 11043668]
