Simplified disease activity index [SDAI]

Definition

The Simplified (or Simple) Disease Activity Index (SDAI) instrument contains several measurements or scores used to determine rheumatoid arthritis disease activity. The overall SDAI score is calculated using a linear sum of the following: tender 28 joint count, swollen 28 joint count, patient global assessment, physician global assessment, and C-reactive protein levels. The SDAI is similar to the CDAI (Clinical Disease Activity Index, [LOINC: 75842-5]), which uses the same measures as the SDAI except it does not include the measurement of C-reactive protein levels.
