SurveysClinical disease activity index [CDAI]
Definition
The Clinical Disease Activity Index (CDAI) instrument contains several measurements or scores used to determine rheumatoid arthritis disease activity. The overall CDAI score is calculated using a linear sum of the following: tender 28 joint count, swollen 28 joint count, patient global assessment (PtGA), and physician (or evaluator) global assessment (EGA). The CDAI uses the same measures as the Simple disease activity index (SDAI, [LOINC: 75843-3]) except it does not include the measurement of C-reactive protein levels, an acute phase reactant.
