MICA*024 IgG Ab [Presence] in Serum

Definition

IgG antibodies to MICA antigens, including MICA*024, can be detected in the serum of people during pregnancy, blood product transfusion, or unsuccessful organ transplants. MICA antibody testing identifies antibodies against a panel of MICA antigens using flow cytometry. MICA antibody testing using serum can be done pre and post transplantation. A positive result is an indication of sensitization to MICA antigens. This term is based on, but not exclusive to, the submitter's test kit, LIFECODES LSATM -MIC:, a Luminex® screening assay for the qualitative detection of anti-MICA IgG antibodies.
