LaboratoryHuman papilloma virus 16 and 18 DNA [Presence] in Specimen by NAA with probe detection
Definition
We created this term based on (but not limited to) AmpliSens HPV 16/18-EPh PCR kit, which is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for qualitative detection and differentiation of Human Papillomavirus types 16 and 18 in the clinical material (cervical or urethral scrapes) by detection of the amplified products iby agarose gel electrophoresis. The sample is considered positive for HPV 16 and/or 18 DNA if the bands of 325 bp and 425 bp, respectively, are present in agarose gel.
